Just to let everyone know Lotro just put out update 18 on Tuesday.  Lv 105 now and we are at the battle of Pelenor Fields where the witch King gets killed.  Haven't seen the instance yet.

I've been a bit disconnected lately, due to having to fight with my insurance on getting my medication paid for yet again, so I have not been in the best of states.  Back on topic However!

I have actually tried and been playing recently Black Desert Online, that I found through a forum I came across.  It does have an 'active' combat style, and may be more comfortable to some to play with a controller, with its combo system.  The 'Open World' PvP is not 'active' until a player reaches lv 50, and there are systems at play to discourage random ganking. The link below, basically outlines everything in the game, even the PvP system and its penalties.

This next link is the Objective information of the Wikipedia, to put some insight on the game itself.

Below is a copy and paste of the system requirements page

Minimum system requirements to play Black Desert Online:

  • 32 bit Windows 7 or 8

  • Intel Core i3-530 2.9GHz

  • 4gb RAM

  • GTS 250 / GeForce 9800 GTX / Radeon HD 6770

  • 1280x720 Resolution

Recommended system requirements to play Black Desert Online:

  • 64 bit Windows 7 or 8

  • Intel Core i5-650 3.2GHz

  • 6gb RAM

  • GTX 650 / GTX 550ti / Radeon HD7770 / Radeon HD 6770

  • 1280x720 Resolution

Black Desert Online is not currently available for Mac OS or Linux and there is currently no announced plans to release the game for these operating systems.

*Just remember: Minimum means you can run the game, how well is not promised.  Recommended means you shouldn't have any issues playing on modest settings.

**This game does work for Windows 10 Users, how well, I do not know.

I know this game won't be a fit for everyone (if anyone), just thought I'd provide some information for anyone who wanted to, to look over, since this game was mentioned.

If you want to get in contact with me about this, it would most likely be best to add me through steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/zXr666/

Alternately, if you use Battle.net for anything, I'm zXr #1315 on that, since I see those when I start up my computer.

EDIT: Oh if you do decide to check it out either through someones guest pass or whatnot, I play on Uno, and with the server setup there are only about 3 servers If 'm remembering correctly, however there are a list of sub-servers/channels, all linked through chat that you can switch among, which only dictate whom you can actually interact with, and world spawns and such.  So I usually Play on Calephon U2 under the Uno selection, it will make sense if you actually see it.

I was just about to post the news myself; I haven't really been up to speed on the MMORPG circuit and nothing's really caught my eye (yet). I think my problem is I'm beginning to go "retro", I like some of the aspects of older MMORPGs without *some* of the conveniences of newer MMORPGs. In any case, I was wondering if anyone else had any suggestions to try out.

I just saw this announcement and am wondering what is going to be next now for people. Luci and I are still playing WoW, with a near even split of time on each side. We are playing in Hyjal now, though with Cross Realm groups, the server is not really relevant. I saw the two latest games to hit the market are Black Desert and Blade and Soul, but both seem to have a large focus on PVP. and Black Desert, for all of its beauty, I hear is lacking in gameplay to keep people interested.

For now, Luci and I have already ordered Legion, but after playing through Draenor and its "alternate timeline," in other words the story of Draenor and the last ten levels didn't really happen (kind of like the 10 man raids in Rift?), we are both skeptical that the writing of the storylines in WoW can keep interest anymore. In which case, I am not sure what is going to happen.
