PostPosted: 10/31/2009 2:49 pm    Post subject: Watcher in the Water raid planned for Wed, Nov 4, 7:30p PDT

With a month before Siege of Mirkwood comes out, we would like to kill the Watcher in the Water without the use of any exploits before the expanded level limit makes the encounter too easy. Watcher in the Water raids will be added to the weekly schedule; the exact schedule is still being determined. Most likely Wednesday will be converted into a Watcher raid day, and it is possible that either Monday or Friday will have Watcher raids as well. Depending on time and schedule, Nornuan raids may take place in addition to the Watcher in the Water.

In order to participate in the Watcher in the Water raid, please ensure the following:

  1. Read and understand the the strategy and mechanics posts in the Legends and Lore forum (link here). Questions or suggested modifications to the strategy must be posted to the thread; it is faster to handle this outside of the raid. In addition, reply to the strategy post if the time and date work for you. The actual RSVP muster thread will be created on Monday after the Turtle raid. If this works, we will (at a minimum) create weekly Watcher raids on Wed. and may convert/augment other days.
  2. You must have at least 50 radiance from equipment alone (i.e. 5 radiance instance pieces). While it is possible to use destiny points, should you die it becomes much more complicated to ensure you can use more destiny points without affecting the raid.
  3. Your weapons must have Beleriand, Westernesse, or Ancient Dwarf-make damage type. Common damage is not allowed, especially the Ancient Evil Slayer title (or any other slayer title). This is due to the Watcher's vastly increased common damage mitigation (far outweighing the bonus on the Ancient Evil slayer title).
  4. You must have at least 10 hope tokens, and 50 morale and 50 power potions. These will be used quite often during the battle. If you have any scrolls of battle lore or warding lore, bring those as well.

Anyone who is missing any of these requirements but still wishes to participate should send Svensson and/or any of the officers a message and specify what you need and what times you will be available to fight with us for it. The best way is via in-game mail, but using our GuildLaunch site mail is also an excellent way to leave a message.
